Technical Trainer 
Position is responsible for overseeing all facets of the technology training needs of the organization, including the assessment, planning, implementation, facilitation, tracking and day-to-day operations. Ensures that employees have the required tools, knowledge, and skills to perform their jobs and support the organization’s mission. Works with all management and supervisory staff to address changes in the work environment and develop a learning culture. Monitors the effectiveness of training. Will also perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field and/or equivalent training and experience. Minimum of 3 years experience in technology training and curriculum development. Conference Center Housekeeping Associate
Position is responsible for routinely monitoring the cleanliness and hygiene of the conference rooms, restrooms and surrounding areas associated with conference events. This Housekeeping Associate will also be responsible for performing routine housekeeping duties at any of the Houston Food Bank’s locations.

Education/Experience

Part-Time Housekeeping Associate - Keegan
Position is responsible for routinely monitoring the cleanliness and hygiene of the HFB Keegan facility by adhering to the health and safety standards outlined in the Facility SOP to provide a clean and sanitary environment. The position is responsible for establishing a cleaning system that includes the extent and frequency of cleaning required for each area within the Keegan facility.

Education/Experience
High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent. Related work experience preferred.

Recycling and Waste Management Associate
Position is responsible for maintaining the recycling dock, disposing of solid wastes, and making certain the HFB is in compliance with state of Texas Hazardous Waste regulations when disposing and storing hazardous materials at all HFB locations. Also, this associate will be responsible for ensuring that the HFB captures beneficial recycling materials, and recycling them correctly and receiving the full rebate.

Education/Experience

Position is responsible for assisting with the planning, implementation and execution of fundraising events associated with the individual giving program, coordinates assigned cultivation and event communications.  Responsible for event set up, registration, onsite logistical support and clean up; Event and participant data entry and tracking; Coordinate assigned cultivation and appreciation events etc.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration or related field and or equivalent training and experience.  Minimum of one year related work experience.

Position is responsible for assisting with the planning, implementation and execution of appeals associated with the annual giving program.  Responsible for coordinating assigned cultivation activities/events and donor communications such as conducting prospect identification and research and prepare donor profiles; Coordinate all logistical aspects of advocacy based fundraising campaigns, etc.

Education/Experience

Social Services Outreach Specialist
Position is responsible for providing outreach, education, application assistance and interview clients for state public benefit programs. This position requires travel to various locations as needed throughout the Houston region as far north as Trinity County and as far south as Galveston. Outreach could include home visits to clients unable to travel. Interested candidates must have reliable transportation and have a working knowledge of resources and agencies. Must be willing to travel. Work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with some Saturdays required.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent and 60 college hours, associates degree or Bachelors Degree in Social Work preferred. One to three years of switchboard or call center experience preferably in a social service setting. Community Health Care Worker Certificate preferred or obtained within one year of employment.

Must have excellent computer skills with the ability to fully use the following devices in a mobile outreach setting: Portable Laptop, Portable Scanner, and Blackberry. SSOP Coordinator (Montgomery County or Galveston County)
The Social Services Outreach Coordinator for Montgomery County (Galvestonh County) will travel to social service agencies in Montgomery County (Galveston County) and provide outreach, education, application assistance and interview clients for state public benefit programs. This position requires travel to various locations as needed throughout Montgomery County (Galveston County). Locations may vary daily and could include home visits to clients unable to travel. Interested candidates must have reliable transportation and have a working knowledge of resources and agencies in Montgomery County. Must be willing to travel. Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related field
60+ College hours in a relatable field plus two years of relatable work experience providing case work or case management services to clients.

Cycle Counter
Position is responsible for maintaining high level of inventory accuracy and monitor inventory levels and product movement. Also, this position will ensure a conforming product mix, facilitating efficient order fulfillment, etc.

High School Diploma, GED, or commensurate industry training and experience. Purchasing certificate is a plus. Prefer degree and/or five years experience in food warehousing in such areas as manufacturing, accounting, perishables, inventory management and logistics.

Grants Coordinator
Position is responsible for producing (primarily) foundation grant proposals for Houston Food Bank as well as to explore and develop new grant opportunities. Specifically, the Grants Coordinator is charged with identifying, researching, monitoring and applying for available funding opportunities that advance the mission of Houston Food Bank and coordinating the administration of and reporting on awarded funds.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Liberal Arts or related discipline and (3 - 4) years experience directly related to grant writing / administration, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Writing samples will be required for all final candidates.

Yard Jockey (Night Shift)
Position is responsible for the delivery of orders, picking-up food donations and/or purchased products in a timely and accurate manner, while maintaining strict compliance with all establish guidelines set by the Houston Food Bank, Department of Transportation, all local, state, and federal guidelines/regulations. Also, this position is responsible for moving trailers in and out of dock doors, yard and other areas as required to facilitate the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing material for shipment or storage.

Education/Experience
High School Diploma or approved equivalency, valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License:
Class “A” for tractor/trailer equipment.
Class “B” for bobtail equipment.
Class “C” for all other equipment.
Approved 3-Year (Clean/Clear/No Violations) Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), pass
Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical.
Three (3) years knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations.
Three (3) years driving/operating “Equipment” based on classifications above and all
MHE (Material handling Equipment).

Agency Services Representative
Position is responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all day-to-day Agency Services functions. Provides exceptional customer service and support to Administrative and Operations programs as needed.   Maintains professional business relations with staff and outside contacts.

Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Social Work, Business, Humanities or a related field and a minimum of one to two years of related work experience and training.

Development Database Manager
Position is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity of the HFB donor database system, Raiser’s Edge (RE), and serves as the primary point of contact for all RE issues.  The DDM oversees database projects designed to enhance the HFB ability to raise funds, cultivate constituent relationships and personally carries out major/complex data entries/changes (global/import) and custom reports.  This position is responsible for system security rights, system configurations and coordination of system updates with IT Department.  The DDM oversees staff responsible for data entry and works closely with the Development and Accounting Departments to provide donor and finance related reports.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent training and experience. Minimum of 3 years database management experience and/or related training and work experience. Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, MS Office and working knowledge of Convio.

Lead Warehouse Associate
Position is responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all day-to-day receiving functions as they relate to Donation, Order selectors, administration, personnel, RODS accuracy Bin Slotting and FIFO processes.  Provides exceptional customer service and support receiving and operations programs as needed.  Maintain professional business relations with staff and outside contacts.  Keep Warehouse Manager well informed of all area activities.

Education/Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or commensurate industry experience, previous experience in food warehousing and/or like business. Requires experience in food warehousing or inventory management. Prefer at least two years of Food Grade Warehouse experience.

Warehouse Operations Supervisor
Position is responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all day-to-day Distribution and Warehousing functions as they relate to Walk-in Shopping area, Frozen, Refrigerated, Dry Areas, Agency Orders, Order selectors, administration, personnel supervision, Order accuracy Bin Slotting, FIFO and recruitment processes.  Provides exceptional customer service and support to Distribution Services and Operation's programs as needed.

Education/Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent industry training and work experience, previous experience in food warehousing and/or like business. Three to five years experience in data entry and Microsoft applications. As well as, food warehousing, transportation, delivery, scheduling, shipping and receiving.

Possess strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others, communicate complex information timely, consistently and clearly. Must be attentive to detail, self motivated/directed, have the ability to problem solve, coordinate and have positive interaction with other departments, personnel and customer’s of The Houston Food Bank: the ability to operate a computer, copier, fax and any other business equipment.


System Data Analyst
Responsible for designing and developing reports and reporting systems using various SQL reporting applications including SQL Server Reporting Services and Jet Reports.  The analyst will work with these systems to help develop and integrate a comprehensive data warehouse and reporting system for the food bank.

The systems analyst will play a vital role in the identifying and defining business processes and measures for the food bank.  The analyst will help to provide comprehensive, timely, and accurate data from which senior management can draw conclusions. 

The analyst will develop, deploy and support new functionality with the above systems to assist various departments with their programs and campaigns.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree and two plus years related experience is required.  The position requires a university degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in computer science, computer information systems or management information systems.

Prefer at least two years of database development and/or application development experience.

Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of systems development, database reporting, and SharePoint site administration. Experience with MS Office Suite, SharePoint and Visio for producing technical documentation. Knowledge and use of SQL Reporting Services and Jet Reports would be a plus.


Application Systems Analyst
The application systems analyst responsible for supporting and enhancing systems using Microsoft Navision/Ceres application and providing proficiency, focus and knowledge transfer of the application to business process owners and IT support personnel.  The systems analyst will work with business process owners and the IT team to enhance and develop improved business processes around the usage of Microsoft Navision/Ceres and Microsoft SharePoint.  The analyst will develop, deploy and support new functionality with the above systems to assist various departments with their programs and campaigns.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in computer science, computer information systems or management information systems, and two-plus years related experience is required.  Prefer at least two years of application support and/or application development experience.

Required Knowledge
Knowledge of systems development, application support, Microsoft Navision, and SharePoint development.    Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and Visio for producing technical documentation.

Social Services Receptionist/Operator 
Position is responsible for providing call center support by answering and transferring phone calls, taking messages for staff, assisting SSOP clients, volunteers, and guests, and additional general departmental support.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent and 60 college hours or associates degree preferred.  One to three years of switchboard or call center experience preferably in a social service setting. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Product Recovery Associate/Reclamation
Position is responsible for providing exemplary customer service to Houston Food Bank volunteers while they help the department meet production goals through highly efficient processes that will support the Houston Food Bank mission of leading the fight against hunger.  This includes but is not limited to maintaining smooth operations of all day-to-day Product Recovery functions as they relate to Carousel Room, Repack Room, Prep Room, and Clean Room.  Provide exemplary customer service and support to Administrative and Operations programs as needed.   Maintain professional business relations with staff and volunteers.  Keep management well informed of area activities.

Education/Experience
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent training and experience. Requires two years of experience in warehouse receiving.

Warehouse Associate

Nutrition Educator (part-time)
This position is responsible for assisting the Nutrition Education Coordinator in teaching nutrition education classes, coordinating classes with hosting agencies by determining location, dates, and times for teaching courses. Assists coordinator with the supervision of Dietetic Interns and acts as a liaison between collaborating agencies and the Houston Food Bank.

Education/Experience
Bachelor of Arts in Nutrition, Health Education, or related field from a four-year college or university. Experience working/teaching individuals from all age ranges preferred.

Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of basic nutrition, physical activity, and health-related topics.  Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
 


General Cook
To support the efforts of the Executive Chef  in preparing quality food items in a timely, consistent, and professional manner. Maintain a clean and well stocked food presentation area. Rotate and stock perishable inventory. Report to work for assigned shifts wearing uniform which complies with standards. Ensure that all shift duties are completed and additional time is used effectively. Assist with the maintenance checklist as specified by company policy. Continually clean and sanitize food preparation area, equipment, and storage areas. Cooks are also responsible for helping to maintain accurate food inventories and rotating stock items and for preparing and food.  

Education/Certification
Educational background normally attained through at high school diploma or a GED. Appropriate Food Handlers Permit. 

Required Knowledge
At least six months of work experience in the food service industry with previous prep cook experience and previous experience with kitchen sanitation.
