Each year, End Hunger Network hosts an evening of dining that includes some of
Houston's finest cuisine. Chefs from the city's
best restaurants each prepare a course, resulting in a meal
unlike any you could experience at any single restaurant.
2008 Chefs' Dinner
End Hunger Network's 8th Annual Chefs' Dinner
was held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in the Forest Ballroom of The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa.
Co-chairs Melanie King and Sarah Schageman presented
a fun and elegant Parisian-themed evening.
Nearly 320 guests helped say "Au Revoir to Hunger" while
enjoying a delicious five-course meal including terrine of
mushrooms (pictured right), roasted turbot, air-chilled Canadian
chicken with foie gras sausage, roast loan of spring lamb, and a
delectable passionfruit and coconut Bavarian cake with
pineapple-mango salad. Each course was presented with a wine
chosen by the chef to complement his dish.
Thanks to the generosity of The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa and
our participating chefs, all of the food, wine, facility, and
labor costs for the event are donated. As a result, 92% of
the funds raised directly support End Hunger Network's
hunger-relief programs! To date, the event has generated over
$204,000. End Hunger Network gratefully thanks all the
underwriters and contributors to our 2008 Chefs' Dinner.
